Type-A Golden Retriever Brain: Full Moon Edition

I want to talk about how my golden retriever brain woke me up at 4:15 this morning. Sure, it’s the weekend and there’s plenty to be excited about, but a girl needs her beauty sleep.

It felt like as soon as I stirred, my brain pounced on me with all of the questions and scenarios of the day ahead – with the energy and enthusiasm of a golden retriever when they realise you’re about to open your eyes in the morning.

We can blame progesterone here, rife at Day 19 of my 26-day cycle, wanting to get organised and plan ahead – so really, this makes my brain a type A golden retriever this morning.

Okay, so my type A golden retriever brain is not only pouncing on me with questions at the first signs of wake, she’s scheduling in playdates and going over the agenda for the next PTA meeting. [Yes, so apparently my type A golden retriever brain also has puppies.]

And I know it’s a full moon today, so the bubbling energy that woke me so early is also to blame on the moon. She’ ready to GO. At her fullest, she is watching us mere mortals embrace our full crazy, dial it right up to ten and howl at her in the sky.

So, not only is my brain a type A golden retriever with puppies, apparently, she’s also part werewolf.

And I think that just about sums up how my brain has been functioning this morning.
